intention setting for the new year
In our first ever BFF virtual hangout, we’ll be setting intentions for the year ahead. We’ll start with a framework for how to set intentions and will provide time for each individual to create their own. We’ll also have time to share our intentions in small groups, which will allow you to meet a few new people and learn more about them.
Why intentions and not resolutions? Studies show that over 80% of resolutions are abandoned after the first month. Resolutions are focused on specific outcomes, which are often unrealistic, unattainable, and lack a clear “why”.
Intentions, on the other hand, are more about becoming clear on where you’d like to focus your time and energy. According to Psychology Today, “It is a call to action and often marks the beginning of a dream or desire. Intentions are about the longings that have been haunting us. Our intentions can have to do with things such as relationships, love, self-improvement, or career, and affect our emotional, physical, or psychological selves. An intention is a positive call to action about something you want to do, rather than something you don’t want to do but feel that you should.”
This event is open to all BFF members and the link to join via Zoom will be emailed in advance.
